Capcom Puzzle World contains 5 highly addictive puzzle games from Capcom. Many fans will pick this title up and remember playing the classic title Super Puzzle Fighter II or may be even Buster Bros, whichever you desire you have it in this collection. So fans get ready for some serious puzzle action on the PSP.
Features :
Gameplay
Many people will play this title simply for one title and that game is Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo. Fans of the title will argue that the game is easily the most addictive puzzle game ever made outside of Tetris and to be honest the game is. Super Puzzle Fighter II is an excellent take on classic puzzle games like Columns and Tetris but adds a unique spin on the titles. Players must combine gems that can only be broken by the matching color gems.
Street Puzzle Fighter 2 Turbo allows players to use Street Fighter or Darkstalkers characters that will then perform special moves as you combine the gems. Some of the characters you can choose from are Ken, Ryu, Morrigan, Felicia, and Chun-Li. Players will be able to get better special moves throughout the game if they perform well during the game. Some of the moves include roadblock gems that will hinder your opponents gem pattern. Each character has their own unique special moves so try out each character and see which one better suits your needs.
The game also has several different modes of gameplay. X Mode, Y Mode, and Z Mode. X Mode is the previously mentioned mode of basic gameplay. Y Mode is when three or more gems clear a space while a "change gem" can be charged for chain attacks, and Z Mode is overall X mode except the gems are fed from the bottom up instead. Each offers unique ways to experience the game and is each quite fun as well. Also included are Ad hoc multiplayer, secret characters, personalized Gem Attack Editor Feature, and the ability to take your own screenshots. Each adds some new gameplay elements and can be fun in there own aspects.
Also included in this collection are all three of the Buster Bros titles. These games were originally releases on the Playstation back in the late 1990's. The games are all played in the same way and that is to use wires and guns to destroy balloons that then break into smaller balloons. The game is however plagued by bad controls which keep the games from being fun and worth playing. Had the games controls been easier to use the games will definitely be worth picking up and playing here and there.
Graphics
This game was in no way meant to show off the PSP graphical power and that’s clear. The games have maintained there original look and that adds to the nostalgic feel that Capcom was aiming for. The 2D sprites are solid in Super Puzzle Fighter and the chibi look of the classic Street Fighter characters look great.
Buster Bros is very plain and simple but gets the job done. Like Super Puzzle Fighter the game isn't meant to impress graphically but just meant to get the job done. Fans of these titles will remember the graphics and feel nostalgic while playing.
Overall
Overall it is hard to recommend anyone this collection for the price of $39.99. Super Puzzle Fighter is the main selling point of the title and the price tag is a lot to ask for just one game. Had this title been released as a budget title of only $19.99 then I would recommend everyone to pick-up this title to play Super Puzzle Fighter on the PSP. As is stands though only hardcore fans of Super Puzzle Fighter and big fans of Buster Bros should spend the full price on this title in the end.
