Enter the world of Valhalla Knights. In a land of humans, elves, dwarves, and halflings the world was in a perfect harmony until demons destroyed their peaceful lives. The Dark Lord, who previously ruled the land, returned to reclaim what was his.
One day, a youth wakes up in this land. In this land full of despair, the youth searches for his/her lost memory. What lie ahead is the discovery of his/her memories and the future of this forsaken land.
FEATURES :
Ever want to choose your characters stats, quests, and party members in an RPG? Well it seems like Valhalla Knights from XSeed Games will be doing just that later this month. Instead of setting a projected path and set characteristics on the main character, Valhalla Knights will let you take full control over the character and make them whatever you desire. The game will allow players to choose their characters own job class as well as a sub-job. So players will be able to have their character as a Warrior and then set their sub-job as a Mage and then they will have a balance of superior strength as well as magic abilities. This will allow players make overall balanced characters in the game and not be restrained to only one specific job class. As you progress throughout the game you will also be able to unlock a number of other jobs and sub-jobs.
Also new to the RPG genre in this game is the freedom to do whatever you want when you want. Players will not be restrained to completing quest in any special order and they can also acquire other characters to join their party to journey with. Players will have the choice to pick up to 5 additional characters to travel with and they can vary in all different job classes. The game plays out much like a traditional MMO.
Speaking of MMO games, there is a multiplayer component that is sure to turn some cranks. You link two PSPs up for some versus or cooperative action. In the VS mode, you can take your uber team and fight it out with a friend. To make these battles spicy, you can place a wager on who will win so you can put your money where your mouth is, quite literally. In the co-op mode, you can pick up special quests that will have you and your partner do difficult missions that could be impossible alone. Unfortunately, there is no online play so you’ll have to be content with the already impressive Ad Hoc play.
The game is offering a lot of interesting elements into the RPG genre and will spice up the RPG library for the PSP. We’ll have a full review of this intriguing PSP title later this month as the game nears release.
