So, not only might Metal Gear Solid 4 be getting Trophies, but it seems Trophies for the PlayStation Portable are not out of the question, either. Of course, it all depends on who you ask.

Previously, Director of PlayStation Network Operations Eric Lempel had stated "You're not going to see Trophies on the PSP," because "if people can artificially inflate their rankings and amounts of Trophies it kills the whole [Trophy] system."

However, as GameThirst News reports, Sony Computer Entertainment America's Senior Vice President at Product Development, Shuhei Yoshida, recently told PlayStation: The Official Magazine "it's under discussion, but there are some technical challenges."

One might assume that the "technical challenges" of which Yoshida speaks are the same reasons, at least in part, that Lempel gave for the system not existing. How it can work for one platform and not another is beyond me, but I'm not going to pretend I know their software better than they do.

Nonetheless, it's good to know that it's still being looked at.
